… as a big change has taken place in BJP National Executive.
The BJP president Amit Shah has dropped prominent BJP woman leaders including Smriti Irani, Hema Malini and Najma Heptulla from the Executive.
Critics are seeing the move as one making the BJP National Executive patriarchal (dominated by Men). That too when the BJP claimed to stand for woman empowerment and reserving 33% of seats in the party’s top bodies for women.
Sympathizers are seeing the move as a message to the senior leaders, that it reflected the changing equations within the party. In addition, they are also seeing it as a probable decline in clout of HRD Minister Smriti Irani. According to the insiders, Smriti Irani’s style of functioning has not only displeased the officials but also the RSS. Although BJP’s parent body can be excused, as it doesn’t know much about Women and how they behave.
There’s a more logical reason behind the change than the above ones. The reason is Silence. As a matter of fact, bed ridden Atal Bihari Vajpayee and duct taped Lal Krishna Advani are retained in the BJP National Executive.
Unfortunately, nothing worked for Najma Heptulla. Even when Silence was her forte, her age was not on her side. The Age Limit of 75, became the reason for exit. Now she can think over why over 75 Hukumdev Narayan Yadav, O Rajagopal, Lalji Tandon, LK Advani and Atal Bihari Bajpayee were retained.
To conclude, it’s better not to say anything about Hema Malini. Ever since Sholey, the World knows that she’s a chatter-box. That apart, she can’t have ‘Kent RO Advertisement‘ type marketing pitch all the time. Don’t know how she manged to make peopel buy Kent RO purifier. The advertising Wisdom says that, If you want to recommend something through an advertisement, the final pitch should be made in a Male voice.
