Who to blame for speculation around former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death?

Did some media announce former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death prematurely?

Earliest around … 2:40 PM, August 16, 2018.

Yes it did.

But can media squarely be blamed for the indiscretion?

No.

Partly because the very visible “Cremation ready efforts” of the Government from around noon didn’t look any responsible either.

PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee death, premature death announcementSo media cannot be blamed entirely for acting irresponsibly and insensitively.

Speaking about Government and the ruling party, there seemed some method even amidst madness. The respective staff at top level, set in motion hours before the official announcement of former PM’s death (5:05 PM). Those who mattered seemed to be in some hurry to get tents, chairs, condolence venue and cremation arrangements in place, much before noon.

Sadly, the level of mobilization towards post death events, looked very obscene. Even common people don’t show such a hurry. For obvious reasons.

To conclude, it will be some plain speculation on my part to ascribe reasons behind all such hurry. But all this man, material, emotion mobilization even before the demise of a person, looked very improper.
