Haryana Police Constable posts for men include Constable posts (Wireless Operator), for which eligibility is ITI , and Matric with Sanskrit … Why?
Haryana Police Recruitment Board (HPRB), Bays No. 31-32, Sector-4, Panchkula, Haryana, has released a surprising Constable posts notification . Surprising as Sanskrit language appears in the eligibility conditions stated therein. Read below :
Constables (Wireless Operator) : 557 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200 grade pay Rs.2400/-, Age : 18-25 years as on 01/08/2014, relaxation in age as per rules, Qualification : 2 years certificate from ITI in Electronics/ Computer/ Telecommunication with minimum 60% marks. Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or Higher Qualification.
Logic behind Sanskrit as eligibility ?
Earlier Tamil used to be the second language of Haryana (from 1969 I guess). But recently Punjabi has been made the second official language of Haryana (2010). Going by that, the presence of Sanskrit in the Constable posts notification is surprising. Is the Haryana Police giving preference to clarity of pronunciation. But the flip side to this is, these Wireless operator constables will be speaking to those speaking Punjabi or Hindi or a dialect between the two.
