IIT-Bombay, Amity University among 15 global institutions competing to set up campus in New York

The Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT-Bombay), is keen to have its campus in New York City of USA.

The latest news is, the ace technology institute in India, is competing with another Indian university, the Noida-based Amity University to win the bid to set up a science and engineering campus in New York.

In addition to IIT-Bombay and Amity-Noida, there are 13 other global institutions contending to win the bid to set up a science and engineering campus in New York.

The other contending institutions who proposed for the bid, include — Steiner Studios, Columbia University, Cornell University, Technion—Israel Institute of Technology, New York Genome Center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Rockefeller University, SUNY Stony Brook and Stanford University.

Who will finally get the opportunity to have its campus at NY, will be disclosed in January 2012.
