Karbonn Smart A12 with Broadcom chipsets. A Dual SIM 3G Device supports both 2G and 3G cellular network, GPS system, Wi-Fi
Karbonn today launched Karbonn Smart A12, the mobile makers first phone with Broadcom chipsets. The Boradcomm is a US chip maker, who will be using Broadcom chipsets for its new range of 3G smartphones. This is a change as Indian handset makers till now were using chipsets by East Asian companies. But of late, US chipmakers Qualcomm and Intel have started getting favourable treatment from indigenous companies like Lava and Micromax. Karbonn Smart A12 will be karbonn’s premier 3G enabled mobility device.
Karbonn Smart A12 will be a dual SIM 3G device.
The 3G platform of Broadcom used in the Karbonn’s Smart A12 mobile phone has 1GHz ARM processor and a modem that can support download speed of up to 7.2 megabit per second. The chipset supports both 2G and 3G cellular network, GPS system, Wi-Fi and has a power management unit embedded in it. As users around the world shift from 2G feature phones to more sophisticated 3G phones, Broadcom’s integrated platform is in Karbonn Smart A12.
But here in India, the picture is slightly different. 3G has still not been widely adopted. But if the fan base of Karbonn mobiles is considered then they may find the device attractive. But price can be an issue.
Karbonn Smart A12 Price: Rs. 7990
