TCS, MEA will give you passport in Just 3 Days
India’s top outsourcing firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has launched a centre for application and issuance of passport in New Delhi.
Notably, in Oct 2008, the TCS had bagged the mission mode e-governance project, called the ‘Passport Seva Project’ from the Ministry of External Affairs till 2015.
The Passport Seva project aims to speed up the process of issuing of new passport to 3 working days, subject to police verification.
According to TCS CEO and Managing Director N Chandrasekaran,
“Mission-mode e-governance projects like Passport Seva Project showcases how effectively a Public Private Partnership model can work to provide technology-led, citizen-centric best-in-class services to Indian citizens.”
