University Grants Commission (UGC) has started a new Post Graduate scholarship or PG Scholarship of Rs 40,000 for single girl Child. UGC PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child for regular PG Courses only.
In an effort to increase awareness about the education of a Girl child in India, the University Grants Commission, Government of India, has started a Post Graduate scholarship of Rs 40,000, for families with a single girl child (a family with a single child that too a Girl Child).
The UGC PG Scholarship for Single girl child, named Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child, will be awarded in parts: Rs 2000 per month for 20 months.
NOTE: The Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child (PGIGSSGC) will be awarded from Post Graduate session across UGC regulated Indian Universities from 2013-15 Academic Session. That’s those single girl children who have taken admission in 2013 Academic session will be entitled for the scholarship.
NOTE: The Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child (PGIGSSGC) is for Regular PG Courses Only. Distance Learning or Correspondence Learning or Open University PG Programmes are NOT INCLUDED in the new Scholarship.
NOTE: Households with Twin Girl Children (That is Only a single twin Children, that too both girls) will also be included under this new PG Scholarship Scheme. That’s you and your only Twin sister (and only sibling) are also eligible for the scheme.
